1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Mat Log mobile application and website located at https://matlog.flow-roll.com/ (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Mat Log ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, downloading, or using Mat Log, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not access or use the Service.

Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use Mat Log. If you are under 18 (or the age of legal majority), you may only use the Service with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Description of Service

Mat Log is a personal training companion designed for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), submission grappling, and martial arts athletes. The Service allows you to:

• Log training sessions, rounds, technique focus, and session partners.
• Maintain a private training journal and reflection notes.
• Build and structure personal game plans (situations, positions, cues, and branches).
• Curate a personal reference library of technique URLs, metadata, and thumbnails.
• Set training targets and track focus periods.
• Optionally link your account to a Flow Roll-affiliated gym for verified attendance and belt rank records.
• Optionally subscribe to AI-assisted training analysis features ("AI Pro").

3. User Accounts & Security

To access Mat Log, you must register for an account using a valid email address and password, or authentication via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. Mat Log does not provide anonymous or guest access.

Account Responsibilities:

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activities and entries logged under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate account information and promptly update your email address if it changes.
• You must notify us immediately at support@matlog.app if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

4. User Content & Intellectual Property

"User Content" refers to all information, text, journal entries, session logs, game plan nodes, tags, reference notes, custom position titles, profile details, and avatar images that you submit or create within the Service.

Ownership: You retain 100% ownership of all User Content you create. Mat Log does not claim ownership over your training notes, journal entries, or game plans.

Limited License to Mat Log: By using the Service, you grant Mat Log a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license to host, store, back up, transmit, and display your User Content solely as necessary to operate, maintain, and provide the Service to you.

App Intellectual Property: The Mat Log software, user interface design, visual styling, source code, logos, domain names, and trademarks are the exclusive property of Mat Log. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of our software or branding without prior written permission.

5. Privacy & Gym Data Isolation Guarantee

Mat Log is built solo-first. Your private training content — including session notes, personal journal entries, game plan graphs, technique libraries, and study notes — belongs exclusively to your account.

Gym Data Isolation Guarantee: Even if you choose to link your account to a Flow Roll-affiliated academy or gym, your linked gym, its coaches, and its owners cannot view, read, or export your private journal entries, session notes, game plans, or technique reference library. Linking a gym only synchronizes verified attendance counts and official belt rank records provided by the gym.

6. Reference Library & Third-Party Content

The Mat Log reference library allows you to paste or capture web links (URLs) to external technique instructionals, articles, or social media videos (e.g., YouTube, Instagram).

• No Video Hosting: Mat Log stores link URLs, titles, user notes, and cached image thumbnails only. Mat Log does not host, upload, or process raw video files or rolling footage.
• Third-Party Websites: External links contained within your library lead to third-party services. Mat Log is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, copyright compliance, or content of third-party websites or video platforms.

7. Gym Integration & Verified Records

Linking your Mat Log account to a Flow Roll gym is completely optional and free.

• Self-Reported vs. Gym-Verified: Training sessions and belt milestones created directly by you in Mat Log are designated as self-reported. Records verified through a Flow Roll gym integration carry a gym-verified status.
• Disconnection: You may unlink your gym at any time. Unlinking removes gym-synced verified status badges but does not delete your personal self-reported training logs or journal entries.

8. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases (AI Pro)

Core training log features, journaling, game plan mapping, and reference library tools in Mat Log are accessible to registered users. Mat Log may offer optional premium features, such as AI-assisted training insights ("AI Pro"), via in-app purchases or recurring subscriptions.

• Store Billing: All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payments are charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Cancellation & Refunds: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's account settings (Apple ID Account Settings or Google Play Subscriptions). Refunds are governed by Apple's and Google's respective store policies.
• Price Changes: Any subscription price changes will be communicated in advance in accordance with App Store and Google Play developer guidelines.

9. AI-Assisted Features Notice

If you use optional AI-assisted features ("AI Pro") in Mat Log:

• AI-generated content (such as technique breakdowns, game plan suggestions, or summary analyses) is generated by automated machine learning models.
• AI insights are provided for educational, study, and reference purposes only. They are not a substitute for qualified, real-world instruction from a certified martial arts coach or instructor.
• We do not guarantee that AI-generated responses will be error-free, complete, or suitable for your specific physical attributes or skill level.

10. Health, Fitness & Training Risk Disclaimer

Martial Arts Risk Acknowledgement: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, grappling, and martial arts training involve intense physical activity and inherent risks, including serious physical injury, joint damage, concussion, or illness.

Informational Tool Only: Mat Log is a personal logging tool and digital journal. Mat Log is not a medical provider, physical therapist, or certified athletic trainer, and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment advice, or physical therapy recommendations.

Consult a Professional: Always consult with a qualified physician or healthcare professional before beginning any new physical training program or continuing training following an injury. You assume all risk and responsibility for your physical training activities.

11. Prohibited Conduct & Acceptable Use

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Using the Service for any unlawful, illegal, or fraudulent purpose.
• Attempting to breach, probe, scan, or compromise the security or authentication systems of the Service or server infrastructure.
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or attempting to derive the source code of the Mat Log mobile application.
• Using automated scripts, scrapers, bots, or spiders to extract data from the Service without permission.
• Interfering with, disrupting, or placing an unreasonable load on our servers, APIs, or network connections.
• Impersonating another person, athlete, or gym representative, or misrepresenting your identity.
• Uploading malware, viruses, or harmful code to the Service.

12. Account Termination & Deletion

Termination by You: You may stop using the Service at any time. You can request full deletion of your account and all associated training data directly within the app settings or by contacting us at support@matlog.app.

Termination by Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that harms the Service or other users.

13. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

"AS IS" Basis: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Limitation of Liability: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MAT LOG, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE.

14. Changes to Terms & Contact Information

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the app, regulatory requirements, or service features. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when revisions were made. Continued use of Mat Log after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
